In Willie Cole's upcoming exhibit, discover work created by the artist during the last ten years

Willie Cole was born in 1955 in Somerville, New Jersey and continues to live and work in that state. He attended the Boston University School of Fine Arts, received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1976, and continued his studies at the Art Students League of New York from 1976-79. Cole is the recipient of many awards, including the David C. Driskell Prize in 2006, the first national award to honor and celebrate contributions to the field of African American art and art history, established by the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA. Cole’s work is found in numerous private and public collections and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, NY; the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.; and the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore, MD; among others.
