Experts to discuss important art practices and how those practices impact arts eperiences

This panel discussion will be the first in the series The Arts in Public Discourse at the David C. Driskell Center. The panel moderator will be noted Washington D.C. based sculpture and installation artist, Martha Jackson Jarvis. Panelists include: University of Maryland Department of Art sculpture professor Foon Sham; Curator of Contemporary Art at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Lauren Dickens; and sculptors from the Washington Sculptors Group Terry deBardelaben and Mike Shaffer. There will be time for Q & A with the audience at the conclusion of the discussion. The Arts in Public Discourse talks seek to provoke a dialogue around important art practices and how those practices define not only the art that is produced but our interaction with it.
