ABOUT PETRUCCI FAMILY FOUNDATION (PFF) COLLECTION
The Petrucci Family Foundation (PFF) Collection was started about a decade ago for the expressed purpose of lending work by African American artists to museums and galleries in support of an effort to expand the American Art canon. Now about 500 works of art, the PFF Collection has collaborated with major institutions ranging from the likes of the Portland (OR) Art Museum and the Wadsworth Atheneum to campus-based museums, including Hampton and the University of Mary Washington. The showcase will bring over 35 works—split between 20th-century legends like Sam Gilliam and Palmer Hayden and upstart artists under 50 working mainly in the mid-Atlantic like Ify Chiejina and Tyler Ballon—to provide a glimpse into the breadth and depth of the PFF Collection.
