Charlayne Hunter-Gault is an author, television reporter, and journalist, as well as a former foreign correspondent for the National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service. Hunter-Gault will discuss her experiences during the civil rights movement, her work as a journalist for WRC-TV, Washington, D.C. and The New York Times, and finally her roles as national correspondent for NewsHour and later as chief correspondent for the National Public Radio in Africa Johannesburg, South Africa. Activist and acclaimed journalist, Hunter-Gault will also discuss her new book, To the Mountaintop: My Journey Through the Civil Rights Movement, 2012 (Flash Point, publisher), a personal history of the civil rights movement.
