Opening Reception: Convergence: Jazz, Films, and the Visual Arts

This exhibition is a collaboration between the David C. Driskell Center and the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. It is curated by by Dr. Robert E. Steele and Dorit Yaron, the David C. Driskell Center’s Former Executive Director and current Acting Director, respectively, and Visiting Curator at the American Jazz Museum, Sonnie Joi Ruffin; the exhibition features 65 pieces of artwork by innovative artists whose works depict and/or are influenced by Jazz music and culture.The opening of the exhibition will feature keynote speaker Professor Robert O’Meally, PhD, Zora Neale Hurston, Professor of English, Columbia University
