David C. Driskell Center for the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora Friday, October 2, 2020 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

With support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the University of Maryland's African American Studies Department, the 2020-21 research initiative "Race/Ethnicity and Gender Identity in a Shifting Cultural and Racial Climate: African/Black Diaspora Academic and Public Discourse" presents a virtual event, "Conversations and Visual Representations of Race/Ethnic/Gender Identity," co-hosted with the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora.

This event features Curlee R. Holton, the Center's Director, and Deborah Willis, NYU University Professor and Chair, Department of Photography & Imaging, who will highlight Dr. David C. Driskell's legacy and extensive African American and African diaspora artwork, exhibitions, and scholarship.
